This also ensures that pensioners can maintain their independence and avoid dependence on others for logistical support. He said that big camps are being organized in other places including Delhi, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Shimla, Ludhiana and Jammu, where the bank has the highest number of pensioners. He said that doorstep banking for pensioners to submit their life certificate is also free till December 31, 2024.
The Prime Minister had started
Pensioners have to submit life certificate annually to continue their pension. Earlier these life certificates were submitted only in physical form, which was complicated for the pensioners. After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started online submission of digital life certificate in November 2014 to ensure transparency in the system and to facilitate pensioners to submit the life certificate at their convenience.
