The situation regarding pollution in the country’s capital Delhi remains very serious. Delhi’s air quality index has improved, but it still remains in the hazardous category. The average AQI of Delhi on Friday morning was 369. The most polluted area is Jahangirpuri. The air quality index here was recorded at 424. Apart from this, AQI of Anand Vihar, Nehru Nagar, Bawana, Mundka, Shadipur remained above 400. In view of the increasing problem of air pollution, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav called for increasing the green area of the city in Delhi and surrounding areas.
In the air quality analysis report of Respir Living Sciences, the national capital Delhi has become the most polluted city in the country. According to the report, the average PM 2.5 level of Delhi was recorded at 243.3 micrograms per cubic meter. Also, there was an increase of 19.5 percent in pollution every week. Respir Living Sciences analyzed PM 2.5 levels in 281 cities of the country from November 3 to 19, in which Delhi came last in the list at number 281.
Delhi’s air is causing serious diseases
The increasing pollution in Delhi has worried everyone. The air here remains poisonous. People are having problems in breathing. People are becoming victims of many serious diseases due to air pollution. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s major pollutant was PM 2.5, which are small particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less. These are equal to the width of a normal human hair. These particles reach the lungs and enter the blood arteries and cause serious diseases.
