Bengal Police is not even following the orders of CM Mamata Banerjee… Know why TMC MP Saugata Roy got angry

After the attack on TMC leader Sushant Ghosh in West Bengal, Bengal Police has come under target of party leaders. After the attack on the senior leader, MP Saugata Roy targeted the police and said that despite the orders of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the police did not provide security to Sushant Ghosh. Referring to the Kasba shootout case of Kolkata, he also criticized the police. Roy said that after this incident people have lost trust in the police.

Raising the issue of arms smuggling in Bengal, the TMC MP said that CM Mamata Banerjee had given clear instructions to the police to stop it, but the police did not take any action on it. He said that smuggling is happening openly in Bengal from Bihar and other states. On the news of infiltration in Gulshan Colony, Roy said that he has no information about it nor has he heard anything about it.

This is his personal opinion

Responding to Saugata Roy’s allegations, TMC general secretary Jayaprakash Majumdar said that his words are personal opinion. Majumdar said that Bengal Police is doing good work. He praised the police by citing the R.G.Kar case. In the case of arms smuggling, Majumdar said that the police cannot keep an eye on every person, yet the police took action and arrested 40 people.

TMC is going from power in 2026

Taking a jibe at the rhetoric of TMC leaders, BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul said that Saugata Roy and Firhad Hakim have understood that the command of TMC is now going from Mamata Banerjee to Abhishek Banerjee. That’s why they are giving such statements. He asked why suddenly he started seeing Bangladeshis in Bengal. Claiming victory in the 2026 assembly elections, the BJP MLA said that TMC will be out of power in this election.
