Three Naxalites sentenced to life imprisonment in murder case

Sonbhadra, 21 November (HS). While hearing the case of triple murder that took place about 20 years ago on Thursday, the court of Additional Sessions Judge I Jitendra Kumar Dwivedi found them guilty and sentenced three Naxalites, including Munna Vishwakarma, to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 30,000 each. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of 4 months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence.

According to the prosecution, Sanjay Singh, resident of village Ketar, police station Pannuganj, district Sonbhadra, had informed in the complaint given in Pannuganj police station on 22 December 2004 that his maternal grandfather Jaikaran Singh was murdered in 1994 by Sunil Singh, resident of Purna Kala. Sunil Singh was murdered in the year 1997. In which he, his father Shiv Singh and Nandlal Giri were named who were on bail. Due to this rivalry, at 6.30 in the evening, Manoj Singh, resident of Purana Kala, in number of 6-7 entered the house with rifle, gun and sticks and caught his father Shiv Singh and younger brother Dhananjay alias Raju, tied their hands behind and brought them to the door with the rifle. Shot dead. Nandlal Giri, a well-wisher and friend, resident of Chitvisrao village, about half a kilometer away, was also shot dead by the same people. The police registered an FIR on this complaint. While investigating the case, after finding sufficient evidence, the investigator presented in the court Naxalite Munna Vishwakarma, son of Tilakdhari, resident of Sama Bandh, police station Robertsganj, district Sonbhadra, Munnu alias Kavi ji, son of Bharat Pal, resident of Visheshwarpur, police station Naugarh, district Chandauli and Rakesh alias Bhola Pal, son of Dadu. Chargesheet was filed against Jaimohani, resident of Pal, police station Naugarh, district Chandauli.

While hearing the case, the court, after listening to the arguments of the advocates of both the parties and perusing the statements and documents of the witnesses, found them guilty and sentenced the convicted Naxalite Munna Vishwakarma, Munnu alias Kavi Ji and Rakesh alias Bhola Pal to life imprisonment. A fine of Rs 30,000 each was also imposed. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of 4 months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence. Government lawyer Vinod Kumar Pathak argued on behalf of the prosecution.
