A horrific road accident took place in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Thursday. This accident happened in Gorhar police station area of Barkatha block. A private bus going from Kolkata to Patna went out of control and overturned in a roadside pit. Seven people died in this accident, while 12 people were seriously injured. On receiving the information, the police arrived and immediately took everyone to the Primary Health Center, where seeing the serious condition, they were referred to Hazaribagh Medical College.
This road accident happened just 200 meters away from Gorhar police station. The bus named ‘Vaishali’, going from Kolkata to Patna, lost its control in Gorhar police station area and overturned in a roadside pit. At present the road is one way. Due to construction of six lanes, the company has cut the road and left it. Hearing the screams, nearby villagers reached the spot and with the help of Gorhar police station, took the injured out of the bus.
Condition of 12 passengers critical, admitted to medical college
After the accident, seven passengers had died on the spot, while 12 passengers were admitted to the primary health center in critical condition. After first aid here, everyone was referred to Hazaribagh District Hospital. According to the information, the number of women among the dead is more. As soon as information about the accident was received, former MLA Janaki Yadav and her team also reached the spot. He arranged for first aid. The injured were sent to Hazaribagh Medical College after first aid with the help of ambulance.
Construction of six lane road going on for six years
It is said that more than 20 deaths have occurred here in the last two years. This incident that happened on Thursday is the biggest incident so far. Due to negligence in road construction, accidents keep happening on this road continuously. SDO of Barhi, DSP, CO of Barkatha and police officers reached the spot. Let us tell you that the construction of Barkatha six lane has been going on for the last six years, but till now even the construction of two kilometers has not been completed. After the incident, once again there is anger among the people of the area.
