Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena reached Bihta on Thursday along with Patna DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Rajeev Mishra. Here he inspected the site of various development schemes including traffic management, civil enclave at Bihta airport, Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, Shivala ROB construction, land acquisition for Kanhauli bus stand.
The Chief Secretary said that under the leadership of DM and SSP, there is a better situation in the implementation of developmental and public welfare schemes, security arrangements and maintenance of law and order in Patna. Whatever small problems are coming up, they are being resolved in time. Taking all the stakeholders into confidence, the schemes are being implemented with sensitivity and commitment towards public welfare works.
Many development works in progress in Danapur subdivision
He said that many development projects are going on in different areas of Danapur subdivision. Keeping in mind the convenience of the public, construction of civil enclave at Bihta military airport, construction of Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, construction of Shivala ROB, construction of proposed bus stand in Kanhauli, Usri-Chhitnavo road construction project, widening and strengthening of Hathikhana Mod-Chandmari road. Various schemes for area development including projects are being implemented.
Various areas of the subdivision are being inspected to take stock of the progress in these schemes. It was observed during inspection that there is good progress in the schemes. It will be completed on time. Whatever problems are coming, they are being solved timely by DM and SSP. With the completion of these schemes, excellent facilities will be available to the public.
The Chief Secretary said that vacant land has been found on both sides of Bihta Chowk. The agency has been instructed to build a slip road there. The agency has been instructed to convert the two-lane road from Bihta to Pareb to four-lane. If there is any obstacle in this, the district administration will provide full cooperation. It has been told by the agency that four-lane work will be done within 45-60 days.
Farmers will get proper compensation
The Chief Secretary said that there is no problem in land acquisition. Appropriate compensation has been given to the farmers by the district administration and it will be given in future also. There is no problem anywhere. All stakeholders are being taken into confidence. Compensation payment for land and structure is being made at a rapid pace.
The Chief Secretary said that the length of the runway has to be increased from 8,000 feet to 12,000 feet so that any aircraft can land in any weather. For this, 400 meter long and 1,500 meter wide land is required. 190.50 acres of land is being searched for this work. A multi-member team had already been formed by the District Magistrate to ensure availability of 190.50 acres of land for the expansion of the runway. While visiting the site, this team has made a detailed study of all the options for availability of land.
Land available for Bihta Airport
The Chief Secretary said that 108 acres of land has already been made available for Bihta Airport. 8 acres of additional land is also being made available. Land acquisition has already been done to build a 6-lane approach road for connectivity from NH-922 to the proposed Bihta Civil Enclave. Airport link road work is in progress. The expected progress in the works was appreciated by the Chief Secretary.
He said that the elevated road being built from Bihta to Danapur is one of the longest elevated roads in the country. Work on it is going on very fast. The project is to be completed in two years. There is a lot of traffic on Danapur-Bihta-Koilwar. With the construction of Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, the traffic between Patna-Bihta will become much easier.
