Many directors and actors working in the film industry have been accused of casting couch. Some time ago this issue had become heated in the Malayalam film industry also. Now Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali has spoken on this serious issue and told what he thinks on this matter.
Actually, he participated in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa. During this time, when he was asked a question on casting couch, he said, “I have been a director in the Hindi film industry for 15-20 years. I have also heard a lot about casting couch. And what you are saying is that a girl comes, she is scared and has to compromise. Let me tell you, a woman or a girl who cannot say no, her chances do not increase. It is not that if a girl compromises, she will definitely get a role.”
Compromise with career- Imtiaz Ali
Imtiaz Ali further said, “There will be many people taking up the work. If a girl can’t speak and respects herself, then only any other man will respect her. And let me tell you, I and a lot of people also wonder whether I am taking this guy seriously or not. To cast someone I have to respect him.”
During this he also said, “It is absolutely wrong that if you compromise then your chances in the film industry will increase. I have seen just the opposite. “Those who compromise compromise their careers.”
