Union Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh has honored 74 officers and employees who have done excellent work in Jal Jeevan Mission. These officers played an important role in providing tap connection to every house in the village. During this, the Union Jal Shakti Minister called upon all of you to provide tap connection to every house in the village. He said that this work should be done before the 2027 assembly elections. By 2027, not a single village or house in the state should remain without a tap connection.
He said that it is my dream to provide tap water to every house and this dream has to be fulfilled by all of you. During this program, Minister of State for Jal Shakti Ramkesh Nishad, Additional Chief Secretary, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department Anurag Srivastava, State Information Commissioner PN Dwivedi, MD of Rural Water Supply Department Dr. Rajshekhar, Executive Director Brijraj Singh Yadav and a large number of officials from across the state were present. And employees were present.
Work possible under the guidance of Modi-Yogi
The Union Jal Shakti Minister said that when he was given the responsibility of the department in 2022, Uttar Pradesh was ranking at the bottom. But due to the efficiency of officers and employees, today Uttar Pradesh has become the state providing the maximum number of tap connections in the country. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is at the top position in providing tap connections.
Tap connection reached 86 percent houses
Jal Shakti Minister said that the entire team of Jal Jeevan Mission, working like a family, has provided tap connections to more than 2 crore 26 lakh houses in the state. So far, tap connections have been provided to 86 percent of the houses. We will have to work towards the goal of increasing this figure to 100 percent soon. During the program, Minister of State for Jal Shakti Ramkesh Nishad said that earlier water used to come to Bundelkhand by train. Now water is being supplied to every house through tap connection. Due to which the lives of the local people have improved.
Connection reached every home at low cost
During the program, Additional Chief Secretary of Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department, Anurag Srivastava enumerated the achievements of UP in Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that along with providing the maximum number of connections, Uttar Pradesh is the state that provides door-to-door tap connections at the lowest cost in the entire country. Rural Water Supply Department MD Dr Rajashekhar said that along with providing connections, making the projects solar based will save crores of rupees in electricity bills every year.
During the program, State Information Commissioner PN Dwivedi said that this is the first government department, which is honoring employees doing good work. Other departments should also take inspiration from this step and do such work to encourage the officers and employees.
