PATNA EOU RAID: Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) in Patna recovered Rs 40 lakh cash, crores of rupees during a raid at the residence of Superintendent Engineer Vinod Kumar Rai of Rural Works Department. Lakhs of rupees notes were burnt to avoid raids.
Patna News: The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) in Patna, Bihar has taken major action. The Economic Offenses Unit (EO) has raided the residence of Vinod Kumar Rai working as Superintending Engineer in Rural Affairs Department. So far, EOU has recovered lakhs of rupees in cash, jewelry and watches worth lakhs of rupees. To avoid Eou’s team, Vinod Kumar Rai’s wife set fire to millions of rupee notes. The team has also received half -baked notes. The raid is still going on.
40 lakh cash recovered in raids
During the raid at Vinod Kumar Rai’s residence on Bhootnath Road in Patna, EOU has recovered about 40 lakh cash, land worth crores of rupees, jewelry kept in more than 12 bank lockers, half a million rupees noted notes, 10 lakh jewels, about 6 lakh watches. Apart from this, three new iPhones were also recovered.

Light millions of rupee notes to avoid EOU
Vinod Kumar’s wife prevented Eou’s team from raiding for hours. The team waited for the whole night for Vinod Kumar Rai’s house. The EOU team entered Vinod Rai’s house at 5:20 am. EOU officials were surprised as soon as they entered the house. Vinod Rai’s wife had burnt millions of rupees notes to avoid legal action.
All the drains of the house stuck with the burnt note
The EOU team called the FSL team to investigate the burnt notes. The municipal team also reached the spot. All the drains of the house are lying with burnt notes. The municipal team is engaged in cleaning drains and removing notes.
