As per the order of Rohini district court, he was taken to Gurugram hospital amid heavy police security. His wife conceived through IVF and gave birth to twins. He is admitted in a hospital in Gurugram. Kala Jathedi reached the hospital on parole at around 11 am and stayed there for 3 hours. There he met his wife and his daughters. He also met the doctor. His wife will soon be discharged from the hospital. After the parole period he was brought back to Tihar Jail.
Court gave 4 hours custody parole
On June 30, the Rohini court had granted 4-hour custodial parole to Kala Jathedi to meet his wife and their newborn twins at a hospital in Gurugram. Special Judge (MCOCA) Munish Garg had granted interim custody parole to Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi to enable him to meet his wife and newborn twins.
The court had directed that Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi be taken to Gurugram Hospital in custody under appropriate security arrangements on July 1, 2026, to meet his wife and the treating doctors. Jathedi is lodged in Tihar jail and several cases are registered against him.
Advocate described the case as ‘extraordinary’
The application was filed by advocate Rohit Kumar Dalal, highlighting that the pregnancy occurred through an IVF process, which was previously permitted as per judicial orders passed by a competent court. It was submitted that the applicant’s wife had suffered a medical emergency which required cesarean delivery and subsequently she had given birth to twins.
The court had sought immediate verification report from the concerned authorities. It was verified that the applicant’s wife had given birth to twins and was under medical observation, while the newborn children were also under medical care. Taking into account the humanitarian circumstances, the medical condition of the mother and children and the arguments advanced on behalf of the applicant, the court directed that Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi be produced in custody on July 1, 2026, under appropriate security arrangements, to meet his wife and the treating doctors.
Kala Jathedi’s lawyer Rohit Kumar Dalal argued that the case was an exceptional case where the marriage, IVF treatment and ultimately the birth of the child, all took place under judicial supervision, making the present request a continuation of the humanitarian protections already granted by the courts.
