The craze for Apple iPhone is such that as soon as the new iPhone arrives, people stand in queues for hours to buy the phone. Now the situation is such that Apple has broken all the previous records of smartphone exports. In the first seven months (April-October) of the current financial year, Apple touched the figure of Rs 60 thousand crore i.e. about 7 billion dollars from exports.
After the introduction of the Production Linked Incentive Scheme of the Indian Government, Apple shifted manufacturing to India. Apple has started manufacturing iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max locally in October 2024.
After this, now Apple is exporting not only iPhone 14, iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 from India but for the first time, Pro and Pro Max models are also exported. The Pro and Pro Max models cost about 1.5-2 times more in dollars than other models.
What was the condition of Tablet and 5G segment?
According to industry experts, Apple may shift its global iPhone unit to India by 2026. Market research firm Cyber Media Research i.e. CMR said that in the July to September quarter, the tablet market of the Indian market has increased by 46 percent on an annual basis.
Apple’s iPad is at the forefront in this segment with 34 percent share. If reports are to be believed, tabs priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 have seen a growth of 108 per cent on an annual basis.
According to reports, the share of Samsung and Vivo has decreased, while on the other hand, Oppo has benefited the most. Last year the share of 5G smartphones was 57 percent, which has now increased to 83 percent. But the thing to note here is that the average selling price of 5G smartphones has declined by 20 percent on an annual basis to around Rs 24,600.
