Honda GL1800 Gold Wing Recall: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has recently given a big news. The company has decided to recall some units of its premium bike GL1800 Gold Wing. This step is part of the process being done at the global level. Some defects have been found in this bike, due to which the company has decided to recall this bike. The good news is that you will not have to pay any money to replace the faulty part.
Why was the recall done?
According to the company, some GL1800 Gold Wings built between March 2018 and May 2021 Bike A problem has been found in the primary drive gear fastening bolt of the engine. Due to this flaw, in some conditions the bolt may break, causing the engine to stop suddenly. There is a very serious problem in terms of customer safety.
What will happen to the customers?
Honda has identified this defect, and has provided relief to the owners of motorcycles having this defect. The company said that from the third week of December 2024, the defective parts of the affected Honda GL1800 Gold Wing will be replaced across India. No charge will be taken from customers for this.
What should customers do?
If you own a GL1800 Gold Wing motorcycle manufactured between March 2018 and May 2021, you should contact your nearest Honda dealership and get your motorcycle checked. The service center of the company will fix this fault free of cost.
The company will inform its customers through its Bigwing dealers from today through calls/e-mails/SMS to check their bikes. Apart from this, customers can also check whether their bike is part of this recall by entering their Unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Honda Bigwing website.
