Prithvi Shaw Birthday: Prithvi Shaw got the most important gift on his birthday, finally returned to the team

On one hand, Shubman Gill has become the vice-captain of Team India. Yashasvi Jaiswal has confirmed the place of opener in the test team. Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma also seem to be becoming important parts of India’s T20 team. Whereas Prithvi Shaw, their friend but more famous than them, has not only gone away from the eyes of Team India, but now his place is not safe even in domestic cricket. He has been dropped from the Mumbai team after his poor performance in Ranji Trophy. In such a situation, questions are being raised on his career but now he is being given another chance. Mumbai Cricket Association has included Prithvi among the probable players for the next tournament.

Big opportunity before IPL mega auction

Prithvi got this relief news on Saturday 9th November, when he was celebrating his 25th birthday. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament is starting two weeks after the first phase of Ranji Trophy matches. Prithvi, who was dropped after failing in the current season of the first class tournament Ranji Trophy, has now been selected in Mumbai’s squad for this T20 tournament. This tournament will start from 23rd November, which is very important for Prithvi Shaw, because the mega auction of IPL will also take place around it.

Mumbai Cricket Association on Saturday announced the probable squad of 28 players for this T20 tournament. Prithvi Shaw has also got a place in this, who has been dropped from the Ranji team after continuous failure. Although, this is not the final squad yet but it is expected that they will be successful in making a place. Apart from these, Shreyas Iyer has also got a place, on whom most eyes will be kept. Iyer, who scored a double century at a stormy pace in the last Ranji match, is almost certain to play in every match of the tournament. A strong start to the tournament will be important for them too because their already strong demand in the auction may become stronger.

In discussion due to bad form and controversies

Prithvi Shaw, who was the captain of the team that won India the Under-19 World Cup in 2018, made his Test debut for Team India in the same year at the age of just 18 and also scored a century in the very first match. However, after this his performance continued to deteriorate. He could not even take advantage of the opportunities he got in ODI and T20. Not only was his performance on the field poor, he also remained in the headlines due to various controversies off the field, which affected his game as well. There were huge expectations from Shaw in the IPL, who played his last match for Team India in July 2021, but here too, after the initial success, he failed and Delhi Capitals finally released him this time.
