A surprising case has come to light from Navgachia in Bhagalpur district. While people were waiting for sunrise in the morning after the evening Arghya of Chhath Puja, meanwhile a crocodile entered the house. There was chaos in the house after the crocodile was seen in the courtyard. A huge crowd of people gathered. The family members immediately called the forest department officials and informed them. Forest department personnel reached the spot and after about 4 hours of hard work, caught the crocodile with the help of environmental expert and dolphin friend.
The incident took place in Pakda village of Navgachia police district of Bhagalpur. Here on Friday morning people were excited about Chhath festival. Meanwhile, people got scared after seeing the crocodile. The crocodile, about 8 feet long, was resting in the courtyard of the house of village deputy head Rajeev Kumar. On Friday morning, when Rajeev’s family suddenly saw a crocodile in the courtyard, everyone got goosebumps. He left the house and ran away. Within a short time the news spread throughout the village. A crowd of people also gathered to see the crocodile. People started fearing something untoward. The forest department was immediately informed and the team reached the spot.
Crocodile was seen earlier also
Villagers told that this crocodile was seen a few days ago in Jagatpur of Navgachia. He says that the wildlife living in Navgachia and its surrounding forests often wanders into residential areas. In the last few years, poisonous Russell’s Viper snake has also been seen in large numbers in this area. The forest officer said that the struggle to rescue the crocodile was not at all easy, its size and strength were a big challenge for the team.
Crocodile will be released in Ganga
In the rescue operation, 10 forest personnel worked hard for hours and caught him with courage and alertness, after which the villagers heaved a sigh of relief. The rescued crocodile will be released into the Ganga on the orders of DFO. Environment expert Gyan Chand Gyani, personnel Aman Kumar, Arsad and other members of the forest department team controlled the crocodile.
