The Income Tax Department team reached Sunil Srivastava’s residence in Ashok Nagar, Ranchi in the morning and conducted the raid. Along with this, raids were also conducted on the premises of many other people.

Who is Sunil Srivastava?

Sunil Srivastava is very close to all the big leaders of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha party including Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. He has been the personal secretary of CM Hemant Soren for a long time. Before assuming the responsibility of private secretary to CM, he was an engineer in the government department. After this, Sunil Srivastava left the job and started working as Hemant Soren’s assistant. Sunil Srivastava is also a member of the Central Committee of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Party and a star campaigner of the party.

BJP state president Babulal Marandi said about this raid of the Income Tax Department, now this is the work of the Income Tax people, just as we have our own work, as if there are elections, we are campaigning. Every agency, every organization has its own work, they are doing their work.

ED also raided

Before Income Tax Department, ED had also raided in Jharkhand. On October 14, ED had raided the house of a businessman named Vijay Aggarwal in Indrapuri located on Ratu Road, Ranchi. Besides, a raid was also conducted in a house located on Harihar Singh Road in Morabadi area. According to the information, this raid was related to the scam in Jal Jeevan Mission.

ED had raided more than 20 locations in Ranchi. During this time, ED had also raided the locations of IAS officer Manish Ranjan, Vinay Thakur, brother of Jharkhand government minister Mithilesh Thakur and engineers of many departments.

The Income Tax Department has conducted raids in Jharkhand also at a time when assembly elections are very close. Voting is to be held in two phases on 81 seats of Jharkhand. Voting will be held in Jharkhand on 13 November and 20 November. After this, the election results will be declared on 23 November.
