Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday reacted after the Supreme Court’s decision on bulldozer action in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav has taken a dig at the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh and said that the court is now imposing fine on the Uttar Pradesh government which had imposed the fine.
He said that what other proof is needed of the anarchy spread in Uttar Pradesh under BJP rule. He asked whether the BJP government would use bulldozers on itself.
Let us tell you that on Wednesday, the Supreme Court, while condemning the bulldozer action, had ordered the Uttar Pradesh authorities to pay a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to a person. That person’s house was demolished in the year 2019 for the road widening project. Criticizing the Uttar Pradesh government, the Supreme Court said that you cannot demolish houses overnight with bulldozers. The Supreme Court had termed the bulldozer action of the officials as “anarchy”.
Supreme Court angry over bulldozer action in Maharajganj district
A three-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and comprising JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra had delivered the verdict on Wednesday. Along with this, the Supreme Court directed the Chief Secretary of UP to investigate the matter related to illegal demolition in Maharajganj district.
The court is imposing fine on the government which imposed the fine. Do you need any more proof of the anarchy spread in Uttar Pradesh under BJP rule? Now will the BJP government use bulldozers on itself?

The complaint letter was sent by Manoj Tibrewal Akash to the Chief Justice’s bench. On its basis, the Supreme Court has given this order while hearing a suo motu writ petition filed in 2020. It was alleged that the house in Maharajganj district was demolished in the year 2019.
Supreme Court gave this order on bulldozer action
The state government had argued that Akash had encroached on public land. The bench asked, “You say he was a 3.7 meter encroachment. We accept it, we are not giving him certificate for it, but, how can you start demolishing people’s houses like this?”
The bench said that this is completely arbitrary and questioned the state authorities for following due procedure. The Supreme Court stressed that the authorities should have given time to evacuate the families and they should have also followed proper procedure.
