Hearing on 15 petitions related to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah dispute of Mathura will be held in Allahabad High Court tomorrow on Wednesday. In this case, on October 23, the High Court had rejected the recall petition of the Muslim side, which was filed to challenge the order of January 11, 2024. These petitions will be heard by a single bench of Justice Vivek Verma.
During the last hearing, the High Court, while giving its verdict on the recall petition of the Muslim side, had rejected their demand. The single bench of Justice Mayank Kumar had said that the High Court will hear all the 15 petitions together. After the order of the court, now the trial will start in this case.
Welcoming this decision of the court, the Hindu side had accused the Muslim side of keeping the matter pending and said that they do not want the matter to be heard. After the court order, now the trial in this case will start.
Hindu side had filed a petition
In the case of Shahi Idgah and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, the Hindu side claims that this Idgah was built by demolishing the temple. The Hindu side has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court demanding the right to worship at this place for Hindus. The Hindu side also says that the disputed two and a half acre land is the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Krishna’s birthplace.
Muslim side’s argument
The Muslim side argues that there was an agreement between the two parties on this land in 1968, and now it is not justified to invalidate this agreement. The Muslim side also cites the Places of Worship Act of 1991, under which the form of any place of worship cannot be changed after 1949.
