Does it take time to start the car in winter? Adopt these habits from today, then see the magic

Car Care Tips: It is often difficult to start a car in winter, especially because cold affects the performance of the battery and engine.

Here are some easy tips, by adopting which you can start your car quickly and easily even in cold weather.

1. Check the battery regularly

The battery discharges quickly in cold weather. Therefore, ensure that your car battery is in good condition.

Keep the battery terminals clean and free from corrosion. If the battery is weak, get it replaced.

2. Turn on the engine for a few moments (prime it)

Before starting the car, turn the ignition slightly once or twice so that the battery warms up and fuel reaches the engine.

Start again after a few seconds. This will start the engine quickly.

3. Start the car by pressing the clutch

In winters, pressing the clutch to start the car reduces the pressure on the battery and the engine starts quickly.

This technique is especially helpful in manual transmission cars.

4. Check the engine oil

Engine oil that thickens in cold weather can cause difficulty in starting the engine. Choose lighter and higher quality engine oil for winters. It

is also important to change the oil regularly every season.

5. Keep the fuel tank half full or more

If the fuel tank is empty in the cold, moisture can accumulate in it, which causes problems in starting the engine.

Always keep the tank at least half full, so that the flow of fuel in the fuel pipes remains due to the cold.

6. Use a block heater (if possible)

If you live in a very cold area, use an engine block heater. This heater keeps the engine warm, which helps the car start faster.

Although this feature is not available in all cars, it is very useful for cold areas.

7. Park the car in a closed space

Parking the car in a garage or other enclosed space reduces the effect of cold air and protects the engine from cold.

If there is no garage, park the car near a wall or a safe place where the cold air does not reach the car directly.

8. Give a warm-up but not for too long

After starting the car, keep it on for a few seconds so that the engine warms up. After this, drive slowly.

But, do not let it warm up for too long, this wastes fuel.

By adopting these habits, you can start your car better in winter and also keep the battery and engine safe.
