This time Nawab Malik has fielded his daughter Sana Khan from his traditional seat of Anushakti Nagar, while Mankhurd himself is contesting in Govandi. Although Bullet Patil is the official candidate of Eknath Shinde’s party on this seat, yet Nawab Malik from NCP’s Ajit faction has contested the election. There is going to be a contest between Nawab Malik and Abi Azmi, that is why both the leaders are fiercely attacking each other.
‘I will win’
Nawab Malik says that the party has fielded him, he will fight and win. He said that even if BJP and Shinde group keep making personal comments against him, it will not make any difference to him. According to Nawab Malik, this is not a political plan that due to his standing, Muslim votes will get divided and Shinde group will benefit, it is not so at all. He said that he is in the field for his victory and victory will be his only.

Attacking SP candidate Abu Azmi, Nawab Malik said that Azmi has only done paper work in the name of development in this area. There is abundance of drugs in the area, people are under the influence of drugs and their future is getting spoiled. There is no road, Azmi himself has taken the contract for the dumping ground, so how will the problem of pollution be cured?

He said that Nawab Malik should not talk about drugs, his own son-in-law was arrested in a drugs case, it would be better if he did not talk about drugs. Azmi said that if Malik investigates, it will be known who takes drugs. He said that Malik has come to this area only to leave his seat to collect votes. According to Azmi, if Muslim votes are divided then they will suffer loss and hence Nawab Malik has been sent.
‘Demands for seat in UP, Congress snatches seat in Maharashtra’
Azmi also expressed his displeasure towards Congress. He accused Congress of not following the alliance. Abu Azmi said that on one hand Congress asks for a seat in Uttar Pradesh and on the other hand it snatches a seat in Maharashtra. Azmi said that Congress did not do good to Samajwadi Party.
