The clash could have been avoided, what went wrong?
Rohit Shetty was supposed to release Singham Again on Independence Day. Its time was to clash with Pushpa 2. However, later the release dates of both the films Pushpa 2 and Singham Again were postponed. Whereas the release date of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, was announced several weeks before the Diwali release of Singham Again. Perhaps this is the reason why in the month of September, Karthik Aryan called Rohit Shetty and requested him to extend the release date of Singham Again.

In September, Times Now, in one of its reports, quoted a source as saying that Karthik spoke to Rohit Shetty and asked him to consider releasing his films on November 15, so that both the films avoid losses. The report said that Karthik had said that if both the films are released in a gap of two weeks, then both the films will be successful in getting a good opening. It was clear from this report that Kartik and the makers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 wanted to avoid clashing with Singham again.
Rohit did not answer
At that time it was told that Rohit did not immediately respond to his appeal. Rohit said that he will take a decision on this matter later. But everyone knows what the decision was. The kind of opening that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has got is being considered good in terms of its starcast and franchise. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to say that Rohit’s film itself has suffered some loss. Anyway, the budget of Rohit’s film is said to be Rs 350 crores, whereas Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was made only for Rs 150 crores.
How much did both the films earn?
Singham Again has earned around Rs 121 crore at the domestic box office in the first weekend. Whereas Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has done a business of Rs 106 crores. If Singham had been released solo, its earnings would definitely have been higher than the current figures. The Rs. 106 crores that have gone into the account of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, it is possible that if it was released alone, that too would have earned Singham Again. Both the films have earned equally at the overseas box office. The overseas earning of both the films in three days has been Rs 30 crore. The overseas box office numbers for Singham Again could also have been different on solo release.
