Why was 'sacrifice' taken only from KL Rahul? Even together, Rohit and Virat could not score runs equal to him.

Questions are being raised on the Indian team after the clean sweep in the Test series against New Zealand. Like the Mumbai Test, batting remained a strong weakness throughout the series. Captain Rohit Sharma himself accepted this, but he took the sacrifice only from KL Rahul. Rahul was dropped from the team after being dismissed cheaply in both the innings of the Bengaluru Test. However, statistics show that in the last 10 innings of the Test, the team’s two most experienced and veteran batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, are in worse form than them. Even together both could not make him equal to Rahul.

Rahul alone scored more runs than Rohit-Virat

KL Rahul played innings of 0 and 12 runs in the first test against New Zealand. Rohit scored 2 and 52, while Virat scored 0 and 70. When Team India lost, all the responsibility was put on Rahul. He was dropped from the team on the basis of just one match. Earlier, he got a chance in 3 innings against Bangladesh, when he scored 68, 22 and 16 runs. He has scored 86 and 22 in a match against England and before that he has scored 1 century in South Africa. In this way, Rahul has scored 339 runs in the last 10 Test innings.

However, Rahul’s figures are not encouraging. He has failed to perform consistently. But if he is compared with the two great batsmen of the team, he is far ahead. After Rahul’s removal, Rohit could score only 37 runs and Virat could score only 23 runs in 4 innings. Whereas in the New Zealand series, the Indian captain has scored only 91 runs and Virat has scored 93 runs at an average of 15.16. In the last 10 innings, Rohit scored 133 runs at an average of 13.3 and Virat scored 192 runs at an average of 21.33. That means both together could score only 325 runs, which is 14 runs less than Rahul alone.

Will you make sacrifices even on Australia tour?

Team India now has to leave for Australia tour. There the Indian team will play 5 test matches, which is part of the World Test Championship. During this time, it remains to be seen whether captain Rohit Sharma again drops KL Rahul from the team or gives him another chance. Because Sarfaraz Khan, who replaced Rahul, has also not been able to perform well in this series except an inning of 150 runs. He has scored only 21 runs in the last 4 innings.
