Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed concern over the incidents of encounter taking place in the valley. While tweeting on social media X, he wrote that the news of attacks in the valley for some time has been disturbing. There was information about a grenade attack on people who had come to buy goods in the ‘Sunday Market’ in Lal Chowk, Srinagar. Such news is really disturbing. He wrote in the tweet that targeting innocent civilians is not right at all.
All security mechanisms should work to stop this, so that such unrest spreading in the valley can be stopped. He has written in the tweet that the people of the valley should not live their lives in fear. Actually, terrorists attacked with a grenade in the Sunday market of Srinagar district. The terrorists targeted the people present in the market. 11 people were badly injured in this attack.
Three terrorists killed
Security forces did 2 encounters in Jammu and Kashmir. To maintain peace in the valley, security forces were conducting search operations at different places. Security forces encountered terrorists in Anantnag and Srinagar. Security forces killed three terrorists in two encounters. Among the three terrorists killed by the security forces was a top Pakistani commander associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to police officials, the name of the killed Pakistani commander is Usman. It was active in the valley for a long time. Inspector Masroor Wani was murdered by Usman. Lashkar-e-Taiba has suffered a major blow due to Usman’s encounter. Two policemen and two soldiers were also injured in this encounter. He was taken to the hospital in injured condition. After treatment, his condition remains stable. According to news agency PTI, such an encounter took place in Srinagar 2 years ago. This encounter was carried out by security forces in Naugam in 2022.
