Bengaluru: Roadside partying proved costly, couple hit with cricket bat; both seriously injured

A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Bengaluru. Seven miscreants brutally attacked a 38-year-old man and his wife for objecting to a gang having a roadside party. The incident took place in Tunganagar area of ​​Herohalli, where 38-year-old Shivagange Gowda and his wife Jayalakshmi, 35, were attacked by seven men armed with daggers, cricket bats and hollow bricks. Byadarahalli police have registered the case and arrested some accused.

According to the information received from the police, Gowda, who lives in the 4th Main area of ​​Magadi Road, had parked his Innova car near his house. Around 7 pm, Gowda noticed that some youths were drinking alcohol near his car and behaving indecently. Concerned about the noise and presence of alcohol in the residential area, Gowda asked people to leave. In such a situation, the miscreants replied to him, “We will leave, uncle,” but the party continued. After this Gowda contacted 112 police, but he did not get any response.

Police said that Gowda then tried to call 112 to complain, but got no response. After some time, Gowda took his pet dog out for a walk and returned at 9.30 pm. He then went to the three youths and asked them, don’t you have dignity? Now leave this place. Hearing Gowda’s words, the youth got angry and an argument broke out between the two. In such a situation, when Jayalakshmi came out of the house after hearing the noise, some people of the group threatened her. On this, Jayalakshmi slapped him, after which the miscreants attacked him. As the confrontation escalated, more people joined the group and attacked the couple with bricks. Both were badly injured as a result of the attack.

Gowda told the police that he sent them inside to protect his wife, but the miscreants attacked them. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras of neighboring houses. A police officer said they have detained three attackers and efforts are on to nab the others.
