Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava to represent India at BRICS Plus meeting in Dubai

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 29 (Desk): Pushyamitra Bhargava, Mayor of Indore–India’s cleanest city–will represent the country at the BRICS Plus Association of Cities and Municipalities’ working meeting in Dubai (UAE) on October 31.
According to an official statement by the Indore Mayor’s office, Bhargava will depart for Dubai from Indore on Wednesday.
Speaking to Desk, Mayor Bhargava said, “It is a matter of great pride for Indore that the city has earned a global reputation, giving me the opportunity to represent India at the BRICS Plus Association of Cities and Municipalities meeting. This recognition is the result of Indore’s growing credibility and the image of India, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened globally over the last 10 years.”

The mayor added that the discussions at the meeting will focus on city transportation and urban development.
“The Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, will chair the meeting, and I have been appointed as the co-chairman. We will engage with representatives from other countries on strategies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the future,” Bhargava said.
He further said that efforts would be made to prepare Indore to chair the meeting in the coming years. (Desk)
