Jammu and Kashmir Police got a big success on Tuesday. Police have seized a huge consignment of drugs from Baramulla, Kashmir, whose value is said to be in crores. Three smugglers have also been arrested along with drugs. Police said that on the basis of intelligence, checking of vehicles was started by blocking them.
During a search of a vehicle near Jambur Pattan, officials recovered 519 grams of heroin hidden in a polythene bag. Police said that a person has also been arrested with drugs.

Giving information about the case, the police said that a total of 519 grams of drug was recovered from Nazim Din, the value of which is said to be Rs 20 crore. Apart from this, 475 grams have been recovered from Waqar Ahmed Khawaja from Tanghdhar Kupwara and 1,701 grams from Manjeer Ahmed Bhat from Marajgam Handwara.

During police interrogation in this case, Nazim admitted his involvement in drug smuggling. He told the police that he worked for a person named Mir Saheb. Nazim told that along with his associate Waqar Ahmed Khawaja, on October 17, he had received a consignment of drugs from a woman near Noora Hospital, Srinagar. After this, it was taken from Srinagar to Handwara in an Ertiga car and distributed there.
Based on this information from Nazim, Baramulla police arrested Waqar Ahmed along with his car near Handwara by-pass crossing and seized 475 grams of drugs from the trunk.
After investigating him, the police arrested the third accused Manzoor Ahmed Bhat of Marazgam, Handwara on October 27. After his arrest, a search of his house led to the recovery of 1,701 grams of drugs hidden in his cupboard.
The suspects were kept on remand
The car involved in the incident has been seized and all the suspects are currently kept in police remand. The investigation is ongoing so that other members of the smuggling network can be arrested. Srinagar Police is also looking for a person named Mir Saheb, a suspect in this case, the police suspect that he used to distribute drugs at the local level.
