Mumbai (Maharashtra): A tragic accident took place in Chembur area of Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. An 11-year-old student was killed and four other children were injured when a roadside tree uprooted a school bus and fell on it. According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the incident occurred at around 2:58 pm near Heritage Pride on Road No. 11, Chembur.

Universal High School students returning home
- According to reports, a Peepal tree planted on the roadside suddenly uprooted and fell on a school bus of Make Force Company. At that time, students of Universal High School were traveling in the bus.
- Officials said there were 12 children in the bus at the time of the accident. The bus conductor and local people immediately swung into action and pulled the children out safely, after which a rescue operation was carried out.
The condition of 5 more innocent people is serious
- Of the rescued children, four suffered minor injuries, while one boy was seriously injured. All five injured students were immediately taken to Zain Hospital for treatment.
- According to the medical officer on duty at Zain Hospital, the critically injured student, identified as Vihaan Srivastava (11), was declared dead at 4:23 pm. The condition of the remaining four injured children is now said to be stable. Further information in the case is awaited.
