Nick Saban Defends Former Alabama Star Terrion Arnold in Court Filing, Gives Character Reference Letter in Tampa Court

ITerrion Arnold‘s time of need, his former college coach, Nick Saban, stood by him. The police arrested and charged Arnold with multiple felonies for robbery and kidnapping.

Arnold appeared before a court in Tampa, Florida. On the same day, a letter written by Saban was presented to the judge as a character reference.

Saban’s letter, dated Friday and printed on university letterhead, is marked ‘privileged and confidential.’ However, the letter found its way onto social media. In the letter, Saban talked about his relationship with Arnold and how he grew close to his family.

Over the years, I have welcomed Terrion [Arnold] into my home and around my family. He has consistently treated my family and my staff with respect, humility, and kindness. In all the time I have known him, he never once gave me cause to question his conduct, his integrity, or his respect for others. I don’t ever recall him being involved in any behavior that would be described as aggressive or irresponsible.

According to multiple reports, Arnold considers Saban’s wife, Miss Terry, a close friend and treats her like a second mother. In an Instagram post, Saban’s daughter, Kristen, wrote a heartfelt message.

I know the character of T [Terrion Arnold], he’s like a brother to me, and this has been incredibly hard to watch. I’m praying for truth, justice, and for everyone affected as the legal process unfolds.

Arnold first came under the law  when he filed a complaint regarding stolen property worth $250,000 from his Airbnb. Two days later, the police took him and three others into custody for robbery.

The Detroit Lions supported Arnold and let the law take its course. Arnold was allowed to return to normal life and attend team practice. However, on June 24, the police arrested him after a warrant was issued in his name.

Arnold appeared before the court along with his attorneys R. Timothy Jansen and Harvey Steinberg. Both Jansen and Steinberg explained that their client has nothing to do with the robberies. The judge granted Arnold conditional bail after posting a $1 million bond.

According to reports, Arnold must submit his passport to the local authorities. He is only allowed to travel to his club meetings and practices. Fortunately, he doesn’t have to wear a tracker.

However, the Lions pulled the plug on Arnold. They  . The former 24th overall pick made 24 appearances. He registered 91 tackles, 18 passes defended, one fumble return and one interception.
