This Diwali, the sale and storage of firecrackers has been completely banned. Not only this, a total of 377 teams have been formed to monitor the entire Delhi. Of these, 300 teams are of police and 77 teams have been formed by the Revenue Department. Clear orders have been given to all these teams that there should not be any sound of firecrackers from anywhere in Delhi. After the government order, all these teams have started roaming in the streets and localities. In this sequence, Delhi Government has also instructed Delhi Police to create public awareness by sitting with RWAs, Market Associations and religious committees.
Environment Minister Gopal Rai held a meeting with officials of various departments in this regard on Tuesday in Delhi Secretariat. It has been decided in the meeting that this Diwali, sale of firecrackers will not be allowed anywhere in Delhi. On the other hand, the monitoring teams came into action after the meeting and seized 19 thousand 5 kg firecrackers from different places. According to Environment Minister Gopal Rai, as the cold increases, a 21-point winter action plan has been implemented to deal with pollution in Delhi.
79 cases seized on sale of firecrackers
Delhi government is serious about this plan. Recently, he also had a meeting with the Union Agriculture Minister in this regard. In this he had demanded a ban on the sale of firecrackers in the entire NCR. Said that firecrackers burst in NCR have an adverse effect on the air of Delhi. Due to this, the people of Delhi have to face burning sensation in the eyes and difficulty in breathing. According to Environment Minister Gopal Rai, Delhi Police teams are in action to strictly enforce the ban on firecrackers. So far, the police have registered a total of 79 cases related to the sale and storage of firecrackers.
19 thousand kilos of firecrackers seized so far
The police have also seized 19 thousand 5 kg firecrackers from the firecracker sellers. He said that in this sequence, those people who are bursting firecrackers will also be identified. Police will also take legal action against such people as per rules. Said that this Diwali, Delhi government has started “Light lamps, not firecrackers” campaign for public awareness. Efforts are being made to connect every person living in Delhi with this campaign. For this, awareness programs are being organized in collaboration with various organizations.
