Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 29 (Desk): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal visited Bandra East on Monday to support party candidate Zeeshan Siddiqui and exuded confidence of his victory in the assembly polls.
Zeeshan has been announced as the NCP candidate for the Bandra East constituency, where he won in the 2019 elections, defeating Shiv Sena’s Vishwanath Mahadeshwar.
“Zeeshan Siddiqui was elected earlier as well. He was an MLA. His father (Baba Siddiqui) and he had joined NCP. After this, Zeeshan Siddiqui was made a candidate from here once again. I came here to support him (during nomination),” Bhujbal told Desk.

Commenting on Siddiqui contesting against Shiv Sena(UBT)’s Varun Sardesai, Bhujbal said in democracy, anyone can contest from any seat.
“Zeeshan has been elected from here before, as was Baba Siddiqui. The atmosphere in the last 10-15 days suggests that Zeeshan is set to win.”
Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of former MLA Baba Siddique who was murdered earlier this month, joined the NCP on Friday in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Zeeshan was the former president of the Mumbai Youth Congress. However, in August, he stated that he was removed “unceremoniously” and that the Congress was ‘sidelining’ him. (Desk)
