After this Mohammad Salim said in a press conference, “I came to know in the afternoon. A female journalist is angry with the behavior of Tanmay Bhattacharya. Girls understand very well which touch is normal and which is bad touch. As a party, CPM takes any such complaint seriously.
They said thatIf Tanmay Bhattacharya has done any wrong thing. It does not support CPM as a party in any way. No one will consider it good. We do not condemn it. There is a method for that too. But it takes time. So before that we will suspend Tanmay Bhattacharya. How many days will have to be seen? It depends on how many days the internal investigation will take to complete. We will accept whatever proposal the inquiry committee makes later.
CPM formed a committee to investigate
According to CPM sources, the party’s higher committee has constituted a commission to investigate such complaints. Tanmay Bhattacharya is an invited member of the District Editorial Board. This committee is chaired by the State Committee. Since the complaint against Tanmay was not filed at the party level and the complainant had made the matter public on social media.
Taking suo motu cognizance, State Secretary Salim announced the suspension of Tanmay Bhattacharya. Soon the party’s internal investigation committee will also be asked to start an investigation. Time will also be fixed to complete the investigation. According to party sources, many complaints had been received against Tanmay earlier also. Those complaints can also be investigated along with recent complaints.
