There was a stir in Moti Garden of Balaghat city of Madhya Pradesh on Friday night. When a man poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire in front of his wife and two daughters. This incident happened when Dhanpal Bakat had come to the garden with his elder daughter and took this step after having an argument with his wife. People who came to visit the garden extinguished the fire and immediately informed the police about the matter. Kotwali police and local people sent him to the district hospital for treatment in 108 ambulance. Where his condition remains critical.
According to the information, due to some family dispute, Dhanpal’s wife Shashi Bapat had gone to her maternal home in Varasivani with her younger daughter for the last one year. Dhanpal lives with his elder daughter. For the last few days, Shashi Bakat was living on rent in Balaghat and working in a micro finance company. Whereas Dhanpal is living in his father’s house in Ward No. 1, Siddharth Nagar Budhi, keeping his elder daughter with him.

Dhanpal wanted his wife Shashi to live with him. Due to this, Dhanapal had called his wife on Friday evening and asked her to meet him at Moti Garden. There was a dispute between husband and wife over some issue in the garden. Amidst this domestic dispute, Dhanapal took out petrol kept in a bottle, sprinkled it on himself and set himself on fire with a lighter. Dhanapal had earlier also tried to commit suicide by consuming poison.

Dushyant Rahangdale, who was present on the spot, told that when there was a fight between the two, they were sitting at a distance. He said that it is not clear but the husband was getting angry with his wife again and again. After this, the husband took out the plastic bottle he had brought with him and poured petrol in it and set himself on fire. After which an attempt was made to save him. Later the police also reached the garden. The injured person was taken to the district hospital by ambulance.
Giving information, CSP Anjul Ayank Mishra said that after a fight between husband and wife, the husband set himself on fire. Who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, who is not able to give statement right now. The incident will be known only after the statement and investigation. The police is investigating the matter.
