Bajaj has stopped the sale of Pulsar N125 in India. It failed due to weak design and low features. Exports will continue and a new, improved model may be launched next year.
bJazz Auto has decided to discontinue its popular bike Pulsar N125. According to a report by BikeAdvice, Pulsar N125 is still listed on the company’s official website, but its supply to dealers has been completely stopped. Although the company has discontinued it in India, its production will continue. This is because Bajaj exports this powerful bike to many countries including Nepal, Peru, Colombia and Morocco.
Pulsar N125 engine and design
The Pulsar N125 was built on a completely new platform, which was not shared with any other bike in the Pulsar series. It also had a new engine and at around 125 kg it was one of the lightest Pulsar bikes ever. Despite being technically superior, its design did not appeal to Indian buyers. Compared to the traditional muscular styling of the Pulsar series, the N125 had a sleek and distinct design.
Didn’t show strength on the road
The company tried to give it a modern look, but most of the customers like bikes whose road presence is strong. This is the reason why its competing bikes like Hero Extreme 125R and Honda CB125 Hornet performed better in the market. Another major reason for the low sales of Pulsar N125 was its features. Nowadays, features like TFT instrument cluster and ABS are in great demand in the 125cc performance bike segment, but Pulsar N125 did not have these fancy features.
New Pulsar N125 is coming
Now Bajaj is preparing to overcome this deficiency. Reports suggest that the 2027 Bajaj Pulsar N125 could be launched between January and March next year. Pictures taken during testing show that the new bike will be bigger, more premium and with a sharp design. The most important changes in the new Pulsar N125 will be at its front. It will include a completely new front facia, larger headlamp cowl and re-designed body panels, which will give the bike a more sporty look.
Apart from this, the new bike will get updates like split seat setup, new rear grab rail, fully covered chain cover, more comfortable riding position, telescopic front forks and rear monoshock suspension. The company will also provide alloy wheels at front and rear. For braking, standard disc brake will be provided at the front and drum brake at the rear.
