In the case of embezzlement of Rs 25 crore from the cooperative bank of Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, the police has attached a hotel worth Rs 10 crore. Police have so far sent 13 people to jail on charges of embezzlement from the bank. At the same time, the possibility of many other accused also going to jail is being expressed. Many big bullion businessmen of the city including six bank officials are serving jail sentence on charges of embezzlement of Rs 25 crore.
In the case of embezzlement of Rs 25 crore in the District Cooperative Bank, the police and administration have taken action to attach the hotel worth Rs 10 crore of the main accused Akhilesh Chaturvedi (Senior Branch Manager). After this attachment process, this hotel cannot be bought or sold now. Etawah SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said that the hotel of senior branch manager Akhilesh Chaturvedi, the main accused in the Rs 25 crore scam in District Cooperative Bank Etawah, has been attached.
Attachment of Royal Galaxy Hotel
As per the instructions of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the Royal Galaxy Hotel built in Civil Line area has been attached under the supervision of Naib Tehsildar Shikhar Mishra and Police Investigation Officer Bhola Prasad Rastogi. On the orders of the District Magistrate, a poster related to the attachment has also been pasted on the main gate of the hotel. It is clearly written in the pasted poster that this hotel has been constructed with the amount of Rs 25 crore scam in the District Cooperative Bank.
The main accused was arrested from Bharatpur
Therefore, on the instructions of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, this hotel has been attached. Chief Judicial Magistrate Etawah had ordered the attachment of the hotel on September 30. The police had arrested Akhilesh Chaturvedi, the main accused in the embezzlement of Rs 25 crore from the Co-operative Bank, on July 25 from Raj Guest Palace in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
