There are assembly elections in Maharashtra next month, the dates for which have also been announced. Voting is going to be held on all 288 seats of Maharashtra on November 20. Even before this, the Model Code of Conduct has already come into effect from October 15 but it is not being followed. It has been informed by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer that from October 15 to 25, a total of 1259 complaints have been received on the C-Vigil app across the state, out of which 1250 complaints have been immediately resolved by the Election Commission.
Many enforcement agencies of the state government and the central government have taken action in this case, in which a total of assets worth Rs 100 crore 40 lakh have been seized, including illegal property, liquor, drugs and precious metals. However, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has also said that the code of conduct is being strictly followed in the state.
Earlier 40 lakhs were seized
Even before this, money worth crores was seized from many places. On Friday, October 25, one crore 40 lakh 35 thousand rupees were seized from Hingoli area. This action was taken by the Local Crime Branch of Hingoli District Police. Money was seized in two vehicles near Hingoli bus depot. Now property worth Rs 100 crore 40 lakh has been seized. Till yesterday, more than 1100 complaints were registered on C-Vigil app, which has now increased to 1259.
What is Sea Vigil App?
The C Vigil app is meant to help citizens comply with the code of conduct, which can be downloaded from any app store. Through this app, citizens can lodge complaints for violation of the code of conduct. After the complaint is registered, the concerned team will investigate and after that appropriate action will be taken.
