New Delhi [India], October 25 (Desk): The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested seven “shooters” of Lawrence Bishnoi gang from Punjab and neighbouring states, a senior officier said here on Friday.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Kumar Kushwaha informed that these accused were getting direct instruction form RJ Bishnoi, who had been a part of Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
“The first arrest, Ritesh, was made in Delhi on October 23. A person named Sukharam was arrested from Rajasthan. There have also been arrests from Abohar and Sirsa of Punjab. They were planning the murder of a person named Sunil Pehelwan in Rajasthan.” Kushwaha said.
“A GPS tracking device has also been recovered,” Kushwaha informed.
“They were getting direct instructions from RJ Bishnoi, who is working independently but he had been a part of the Lawrence syndicate in the past,” Kushwaha added.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police also arrested arms facilitator and a key member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The accused, identified as Rijwan Ansari, was wanted for his involvement in arms supply cases of police station Khurja Dehat and Kotwali, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, He was also responsible for supplying arms in the Muzaffarnagar area of the state, police said.
After receiving information Delhi Police laid trap at Nala Chhawla, Dwarka, Delhi, nabbing the accused who was riding a stolen scooter.
During the search, police recovered one sophisticated pistol with a magazine and three live cartridges, along with one country-made pistol and 02 live cartridges, police said
Further investigation revealed that the arms were facilitated by his cousin Shahbaz Ansari, a known associate of the gang leaders. Shahbaz had previously been arrested for supplying arms in the murder case of Sidhu Moosewala.
Accused Rijwan Ansari was born in Khurja, Bulandshahr, UP. His father was in the crockery business. He has two younger brothers, Kurban and Rehan. His father, mother, and brother Kurban passed away during the pandemic. Rijwan, along with his brothers and nephew, has been involved in supplying illegal arms and ammunition to notorious gangsters across the nation, police said. (Desk)
