Actor Kartik Aaryan reminisced about his initial days in the film industry and how he carved his own path. The actor, who is currently busy promoting his Diwali release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, spoke in an interview about how he had to work harder than those who got everything ready for them in Bollywood, including a “Rs 500 crore director for their debut film”.
Speaking to The Indian Express, the actor explained how a film’s success is dependent on many factors and not just who is starring in it. Kartik mentioned that he feels no pressure because he has been taking risks throughout his career in the industry. The actor said, “In my journey, I’ve never had anything handed to me. I had to make the plate myself; no one came to me with a platter. No one got me a Rs 500 cr director when I started. I worked with all the debut directors. So, I haven’t been that lucky, but I know where my margin can rise. If I am still giving that number, I am content with that.”
The 33-year-old added that he has understood the in deciding the fate of a film at the box office. He elaborated, “There is mathematics behind it. Like what is the team, what was their last film, what is their next, who is the audience coming to see? Is it the biggest date of the year? Are there many holidays in the run? There are several calculations which you, as well as the industry, are looking at. When these things are well calculated, you don’t take the pressure of it.”
“Not comparing, not complaining”
Kartik shared that he’s grateful for what he has achieved and how he’s doing at work right now. The actor said he’s content and is never complaining. “I am not comparing; I am not complaining. I am in a good space, because nobody knew me when I came to the city and now, I am recognised in every corner of the country. That’s something to be grateful about,” he concluded.
Kartik is looking forward to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 setting the box office on fire from November 1. The film is facing a clash with Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, but he has been quite at ease with the clash. In his previous media interactions, he shared how there’s enough audience for both the big films, and he would himself go and watch the Rohit Shetty-directorial in theatres.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, backed by T-Series, also features Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri, among others in important roles.
