Now the condition of NOC for plot registration has been abolished in Punjab. This will provide great relief to the people. The Governor has approved the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation (Amendment) Act-2024. For this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has thanked Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. He said that the Assembly had passed the bill on September 3. Today the Governor has approved it. CM said that the purpose of the amendment is to provide relief to small plot holders. Also, strict control has to be ensured on illegal colonies.
The Chief Minister said that this is a big relief for the common people as its objective is to remove the problems faced by the common public in the registry of their plots and to stop the construction of unauthorized colonies. In this, a provision has also been made for punishment and fine to the criminals. This is a historic decision. Its objective is to ensure the welfare of the common man.
NOC not required for registration
He said that as per the amendment, any person who has a power of attorney, sale agreement on stamp paper or any other such document for a plot up to 500 square yards in an illegal colony till July 31, 2024, will be required to apply for land registry. NOC will not be required.
The new law will provide relief to those people
The Chief Minister said that some colonizers used to earn money illegally. People are suffering the consequences of their misdeeds. Illegal colonies had increased during the poor governance of previous governments. The reason for this is that earlier protection was given to illegal colonizers.
He said that now the new law will provide great relief to those people who had mistakenly invested their hard-earned money in illegal colonies. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these innocent people had invested their money to build houses but due to illegal colonies they got into trouble.
