The ruckus regarding seat allotment in Maharashtra is not showing any signs of stopping. While Republican Party of India (Athawale) workers are angry over the seat distribution in Mahayuti, Shiv Sena (UBT) supporters have also demonstrated. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) workers are angry over Maha Vikas Aghadi giving ticket to sitting MLA Ajay Choudhary from Mumbai’s Lalbagh Shivdi assembly seat. Thousands of Shiv Sainiks took to the streets against this and raised slogans.
Ajay Choudhary (Uddhav Thackeray faction) has been made the candidate for Lalbagh Shivdi assembly seat of Mumbai, but there is tremendous resentment against him. Party workers say that the party had promised to give ticket to Sudhir Salvi, but Uddhav Thackeray’s party has reneged.
Sudhir Salvi is the Shivdi assembly organization chief of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray. He was also made the coordinator in the Lok Sabha elections, but the party did injustice to him.
Demonstration on making Ajay Choudhary a candidate
There is a lot of ruckus and sloganeering outside the Lalbagh Uddhav Thackeray party office. Actually Sudhir Salvi is the secretary of Raja Ganpati Mandal of Lalbagh.
He has a strong hold in the area. Due to his association with Lalbagh Ganpati Mandal, he has his own popularity and social service among the people. In such a situation, Ajay Chaudhary has been given the ticket instead of Sudhir Salvi. This internal discord that started in the party has now come on the streets, in such a situation it will not be easy for Uddhav on Shivdi Lalbagh seat.
Republican Party workers also expressed their displeasure
On the other hand, disgruntled Republican Party of India (Athawale) workers raised slogans terming seat sharing as against the grand alliance. He says that there is grave injustice being done to the Republican Party in seat allocation. Republican workers have decided that the Grand Alliance campaign will be boycotted until a respectable agreement is reached in seat allocation.
He said that after waiting for two days, the Republican Party will decide whether to campaign between Mahayuti or Mahavikas Aghadi. The final decision in this regard will be taken by Republican Party National President Ramdas Athawale.
Maharashtra President of Republican Party Youth Alliance Pappu Kagde, Mumbai President Siddharth Kasare, State Organization Secretary Parshuram Wadekar and many other leaders led the protest.
