According to the documents related to the investigation, this plot was purchased in the name of Supriya Mishra, wife of Lavkush Mishra. This purchase took place when Mishra had been associated with the donation counting team at the Ram Temple for only about a year. This plot is located in Shahadatganj-Banbirpur area near Ayodhya-Lucknow Highway. Its price is recorded in the documents as Rs 8.8 lakh. However, according to local information, the current market price of the land and the house being built on it is estimated to be around Rs 25 lakh.

Construction of two storey house also started

A two-storey house is being built on this plot of about 1,000 square feet. The structure of the house is almost ready and electrical work is also going on. Local people say that the construction work started in February last year and in the initial days, Lavkush Mishra and his family used to frequently visit the construction site.

Neighbor Rajkumar Pandey told that this house belongs to Lavkush Mishra and the construction work started around February last year. He said, we used to see him coming and going here from time to time.” According to the local people, Bhoomi Pujan was also performed before the construction of the house started, in which Mishra and his family participated.

Construction work suddenly stopped after arrest

People of the area say that till a few days ago, laborers were working at the construction site. But as soon as the news of Ram temple donation controversy and arrest of Lavkush Mishra came out, the construction work suddenly stopped. A local resident said, “Laborers were working here till a few days ago, but since Sunday neither any laborer was seen nor any family member came here.”

Questions raised regarding salary and property

According to local people, Lavkush Mishra’s family lived a normal lifestyle. He often traveled by motorcycle and his lifestyle never made it seem like he could have such huge wealth. According to reports, as a cash counting employee attached to the Ram Mandir Trust, he used to get a salary of around Rs 12,000 to 15,000 every month. A local resident said, “It never seemed from his lifestyle that he would have so much money. The answer to how such a big house was being built will emerge only in the investigation.”

Lavkush Mishra, 27, was part of the team counting offerings and cash at the temple. Police have arrested him along with other accused. During the recent raid, the investigating agencies had recovered about Rs 12 lakh in cash from his house.
