Among the 8 accused arrested in this case, two members of the same family have emerged as the main accused. These include Anukalp Mishra and his brother-in-law Lavkush Mishra. According to the investigating agencies, the two were part of the team counting cash donations and other valuables given by devotees at the temple. Now the police suspect that money was embezzled on a large scale through this team. This case has created a stir in political circles also.

During the investigation, when the officers reached Basava village of Ayodhya district, many things came to light regarding the changed lifestyle of Anukalp Mishra’s family. According to the villagers, their house is completely different from the other houses in the village and looks quite luxurious. At first glance it appears to be one of the best and most expensive properties in the village.
Neighbors talked about a big change in the financial situation
When the team reached the village, no family member was present at home. A relative living in the neighborhood said that there was a dispute going on between the two families for a long time. Many neighbors claimed that till a few years ago, the financial condition of the family was very normal, but now they do not seem to be lacking anything. Some villagers also said that they avoided describing Anukalp as a ‘good person’.
What did grandfather tell the police?
Anukalp Mishra’s grandfather Rajendra Prasad Mishra told the police that his son works in property dealing and lives outside the village. He also said that his grandson had organized a big seven-day religious program in the village on April 30. Many people including the narrator participated in this event. Dada says that he had met Anukalp during the same program, but he had no knowledge about the case of theft in the temple.

According to the villagers, Champat Rai, former general secretary of Ram Mandir Trust, had also attended this religious event. His pictures with Anukalp Mishra have also surfaced. Apart from this, representatives of Ayodhya Mayor and District Panchayat President were also present in the program. Now the investigating agencies are trying to find out where the money for such a big event came from.
Investigation on farmhouse, new house and expensive car also
Local people say that Anukalp Mishra has recently built a farmhouse on the outskirts of the village. Apart from this, he had also bought a house in Ayodhya city last year, the current price of which is said to be around Rs 65 lakh. According to the neighbours, he already owned a car and was also planning to buy a Scorpio SUV soon.
Was appointed in the donation counting team 3 years ago
According to the information, Anukalp Mishra earlier worked in the outsourcing team of a bank. About three years ago, he was appointed to the team that counted donations in the Ram temple. After some time, he included his brother-in-law Lavkush Mishra in the same team through the outsourcing agency of the bank.
Lavkush Mishra’s property also under investigation
According to the villagers, Lavkush Mishra is a resident of a village in Rudauli area of Ayodhya and currently lives in a rented house. It is being told that he had also recently purchased a new motorcycle worth more than Rs 1 lakh. Now the police is also investigating the source of his income and wealth.
The property and transactions of the eight accused will be investigated.
The police is now deeply investigating the financial condition of all the eight accused arrested in this entire case. The investigating agencies are trying to find out how much wealth the accused had created, how the money was transferred in their bank accounts and where the money related to the alleged misappropriation was used.
