According to TOI report, while talking to Hindi Rush, senior entertainment journalist Jyoti Venkatesh claimed that both the actors had lived a domestic life together for some time. He said, “If you ask whether they had a close relationship, they actually lived together like a married couple for about three months.” Recalling an outdoor shoot, Jyoti told that she had seen that period herself. He recalled, “Mithun had an outdoor shoot, in which I also went. Sridevi never came to the set. She used to stay in her room, but everyone knew that they were together.”

Senior entertainment journalist Jyoti Venkatesh also mentioned a funny conversation she had with Mithun Chakraborty at that time. He told- “Mithun has been a very good friend of mine. I had also joked with him. I had said – ‘Mithun sir, by now you must have learned Tamil.’ He immediately understood what I was referring to and said, ‘Please don’t talk to me in Tamil. Just ask how I am. Obviously he was referring to Sridevi.” When asked why the relationship ended, Jyoti said, “There were coordination problems between them. Also, Sridevi’s stardom was very big at that time. Mithun was a successful actor, but Sridevi had become a big star.” He further said, “Mithun had been in many relationships before that, so people felt that he could not be trusted in relationships.” However, Venkatesh revealed that Mithun’s marriage with Yogeeta Bali was ultimately successful. When he married Yogita Bali after his divorce from his first wife, Helena Luke, many people were not sure that this marriage would last but they have been married for many years.
