Due to these abilities, Nicholas Pooran has become another name for fear for bowlers. On August 31, in CPL 2024, a rain of sixes was seen from Nicholas Pooran’s bat. He alone hit so many sixes that the rest of the team’s batsmen could not score together. In doing so, he broke Chris Gayle’s record of most sixes hit. Along with this, his team also made the third highest score in CPL history.

In the third match of CPL 2024, Trinbago Knight Riders faced St Kitts. In the match, Trinbago Knight Riders batted first, for which Nicholas Pooran was playing. The opening pair of Sunil Narine and Jason Roy added 44 runs in 4 overs. Out of these 44 runs, Sunil Narine alone scored 38 runs in just 19 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours. After his dismissal, Nicholas Pooran came on the field, after which the scene became even more terrifying.

As soon as Nicholas Pooran came to the crease, he started thrashing the St. Kitts bowlers. He showered sixes on the field. Pooran has broken Chris Gayle’s record of hitting the most sixes in a calendar year. Chris Gayle hit 135 sixes in 2015. Nicholas Pooran has hit 139 sixes so far in the year 2024.
