A travel vlogger shared a video from Mumbai airport in which a pen refill tied with a thread at the form filling counter was mocked as ‘Z+ security’. After the video went viral, the airport authority immediately took action and removed it.
mouthA video of Bai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is widely discussed on social media. In this, a travel vlogger has made fun of the pen refill tied with a thread at the form filling counter. The vlogger described it as ‘Z+ security’ and also left a pen there from his side. When this video went viral, the airport authorities had to respond.
‘Such tight security even for a refill!’
Travel vlogger Deepak Samal shared a video of a Mumbai airport counter, where a pen refill was tied with a thread. In the video, Deepak jokingly says, “This is Mumbai’s international airport, and if you are coming to India, you have to fill a form. But the funniest thing is that there is very tight security for this.” He added sarcastically, “So much security has been provided. Imagine, this is such a big airport and they don’t even have a pen. Well, to save his honour, I am leaving this pen here, so that if any international passenger comes here to fill the form, he can use it.” Saying this he placed his pen on the counter.
Deepak shared the video with the caption “Z plus security for this pen, International Mumbai Airport”. He further wrote, “It’s not just a pen – it’s the image of India. Every international traveler pays attention to the little things. Airports often form a visitor’s first impression of a country, and the little things reflect our standards, hospitality and service. A world-class country is built on world-class basics.”
‘Thank you, we have removed it’
The video of this ‘tight security’ of refill at the airport quickly went viral on social media. Many users made funny comments on this. Seeing the matter escalating, Mumbai Airport officials also came into action. They replied, “Dear guest, thank you for bringing this to our attention. The item has been removed and appropriate steps have been taken to prevent such incidents from occurring again. We are grateful for your feedback as it helps us maintain high standards of service and presentation.” At the same time, some people also defended the airport. One user wrote, “In other countries too, pens are kept tied like this. The purpose of this is that they do not fall here and there or someone does not take it with them by mistake. In some countries this facility is not even available. Not everything is meant to protect from thieves.” Another wrote, “To be honest, having refills to fill the forms is enough. I haven’t even seen such pens at counters in most countries.”
