Lucknow Fire: A massive fire broke out in a shop in Purnia area of Lucknow. Students got trapped in the coaching center located above. Fire and police teams reached the spot and started relief operations.
There was chaos in Purnia area of Lucknow on Monday when a massive fire suddenly broke out in a shop. Within no time the fire took a huge form and the entire building was surrounded by smoke and flames. At the time of the incident, students were present in the coaching center operated in the upper part of the building, due to which the situation became more serious.
Building surrounded by smoke, people reached rooftops to escape
According to eyewitnesses, within minutes of the fire, smoke spread throughout the building. The exit route was closed in front of the students and other people present in the coaching center. Many people reached the balconies and rooftops to save their lives. Some people tried to come down from the height, while people present nearby helped them to safety.
A huge crowd gathered in the area during the incident. People immediately informed the police and fire department. In the video surfaced on social media, dense smoke rising from the building and the restlessness of the people are clearly visible.
Fire and police teams took charge
As soon as the information was received, several fire brigade vehicles and police teams reached the spot. Along with extinguishing the fire, fire brigade personnel started the operation to safely rescue the people trapped in the building. Local citizens also contributed significantly in relief and rescue operations. The priority of the administration at present is to safely rescue all the trapped people and to completely control the fire. According to officials, the situation is being continuously monitored and relief work is going on.
The cause of the fire has not been known yet. The reason behind the incident will become clear only after preliminary investigation.
