A youth allegedly died by suicide under the wheels of a truck near the Palm Hotel in Nikol early on Wednesday morning. The incident, which unfolded in full public view, was recorded on CCTV cameras.
CCTV footage shows the youth lying down before the wheels of the truck just when it starts moving. Odhav police have who have registered a case of accidental death, are going through CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts.
Senior police officials confirmed that an accidental death report has been filed, and further inquiry is underway to determine whether negligence by the truck driver played a role or if it stemmed from the victim’s actions. His identity has not yet been disclosed, pending notification of the family. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
