The Delhi government has made a big announcement regarding the deaths due to rain in Delhi. The Delhi government has announced to give an assistance amount of Rs 10 lakh to all the deceased. This announcement was made by Delhi’s Revenue Minister Atishi. She said that instructions have been given to ACS Revenue for verification of all the deceased. They have been asked to make this amount available to the families of the deceased as soon as possible. Atishi has said in the order letter issued in the name of ACS Revenue that there was torrential rain in Delhi on June 28.
228 mm of rain was recorded in just 24 hours. Due to this, many people died in different areas of Delhi. Some people died due to drowning and some died due to house collapse. In view of these incidents, he has asked ACS Revenue to identify all such dead. For this, he has asked to collect inputs from Delhi Police and Delhi hospitals and after identification, provide assistance of Rs 10 lakh in the account of their family members as soon as possible.
Said: it is not compensation but help
He has clearly stated in his letter that this amount is not a compensation for someone’s life, rather this amount will be a financial aid to the victim’s family to overcome their grief and start their life afresh.

Let us tell you that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in jail. While in jail, he has asked all his ministers to actively participate in public welfare works. He has said that no citizen of Delhi should face any problem in such a disaster. Keeping in mind the intention of CM Kejriwal, the state’s Finance Minister Atishi has announced financial assistance for the families of those who died due to rain.
