A shocking case of negligence of the electricity department has come to light in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The electricity department has given an electricity bill of lakhs to a poor family. The poor family is shocked to see the bill of 31 lakhs. This mistake in the electricity bill is with a family whose financial condition is very bad. The laborer of the poor family is worried and helpless, as to how to correct this mistake. Electricity has also been cut off due to non-payment of bill on time. The electricity connection in the house is in the name of his wife Phula Devi. The laborer is constantly visiting the department to get it corrected, but he has not got any relief. Due to the negligence of the electricity department, there is still no light in the laborer’s house.

There was a bill of Rs 2600 outstanding

According to the labourer, a smart meter was installed in the house two months ago. Now after seeing the bill of Rs 31 lakh for two months, everyone is shocked. The electricity in the house has also been cut off, due to which a lot of problems are being faced. The labourer told that even after recharging for Rs 400 on June 20, when the power supply did not start, he went to the electricity office and asked the officer to restore the supply.

On reaching there, the labourer was told that a bill of about 31 lakh rupees is pending. On hearing this, the consumer was shocked. He said that he uses only two-three fans and bulbs in the house. Two months ago, the electricity bill of about 2600 rupees was pending. We are labourers, we demand a quick solution to this problem from the department. In the same case, Junior Electrical Engineer Abhishek Ranjan said that a complaint of fault has been received. A written application has been sought from the beneficiary. Sometimes there is a fault in the meter. It will be fixed after investigation.
