Ujjain: First he tore the notes, then set himself on fire… 2 days after his wife's death, the elderly man also committed suicide

Anyone who has watched season 3 of Panchayat web series this time will never forget one scene. That scene is when Prahlad takes Dadi to his house or rather to an empty house. There he tells Dadi, ‘Amma… does anyone buy bricks and stones by paying gold? This is how empty houses are…’. This scene is just a scene but with great ease and simplicity it explains to everyone that a home is made of people. When your own people are no longer in this world, then even money and property start running to cut them off.

A similar case came to light from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Here an elderly husband, in grief over the separation from his wife, first tore up all the money he had and then committed suicide by setting himself on fire. The deceased husband’s wife had died of a heart attack just two days ago. The husband was very depressed due to the death of his wife. His level of depression increased so much that he started feeling the money kept in his house.

The deceased had recently retired

60-year-old Suresh Rawal, a resident of Khandelwal Nagar in Thana Nanakheda area of Ujjain, had retired from a government job some time ago. He was living with his wife in the area for a long time, but two days ago his wife died of a sudden heart attack. His wife’s death left Suresh so lonely that he could not bear this loneliness, and late at night he first tore the 100, 200, 500 rupee notes kept in the house and then reached Samudra Manthan Chowk, 5 km away from the house, where he attempted suicide by setting himself on fire.

Rawal was 80 percent burnt

On getting information about the old man setting himself on fire, before the police of Nanakheda police station could reach the spot, passersby sent the old man in an ambulance to the district hospital where he was referred to Indore when his condition became critical, but after 80 percent of his body was burnt, the doctors declared him dead. Police say that both he and his wife lived in his house in Khandelwal Nagar. His two brothers, one in Shahjahanpur and one in Indore, have been given full information about this matter.

Notes were visible outside the house, it was locked

After the death of the old man, the police immediately reached his house in Khandelwal Nagar where the scene was different. Torn notes of 100, 200, 500 were scattered outside the house. The door of the house was also locked. The police also tried to gather information about the couple from the people of the area but it was told that the couple did not talk to anyone much and neither did they have a friendly behavior with anyone, this is the reason why some people did not even know their name.

Rawal was under stress due to the sudden death of his wife

According to the information, when the couple lived together, both were happy. They had nothing to do with anyone else. But when the woman died of a heart attack two days ago, Rawal suddenly became stressed. It is said that he had not even stepped out of the house for two days. However, the police is trying to retrieve the footage of CCTV cameras around his house so that it can be known what was the real reason behind Rawal’s death. At present, investigation is going on in the case.
