ShaOmi sub-brand Redmi has launched the first smartphone of its new Turbo series, Redmi Turbo 5, in India. This phone is for those users who want tremendous performance and long lasting battery. The company has launched it in the market with a powerful processor, great display and very fast charging.
The base model of Redmi Turbo 5 with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage has been priced at Rs 37,999. Whereas, for the top model with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, you will have to pay Rs 40,999. If you pay through SBI, ICICI or Axis Bank credit card, you will also get an instant discount of Rs 2,000. The sale of the phone will start on Amazon from June 19. This phone will be available in three colors – Asphalt Black, Nitro Blue and Turbo White.
This phone runs on HyperOS 3 operating system based on Android 16. The company has promised to provide four years of OS updates and six years of security updates with this phone. The phone features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, which supports 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness. It also has Dolby Vision support and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i to protect the screen. Apart from this, the phone has got several ratings like IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K to protect it from dust and water.
For performance, Redmi Turbo 5 is equipped with MediaTek Dimension 8500 Ultra processor, whose clock speed is up to 3.4GHz. For graphics, it has ARM Mali-G720 MC8 GPU. This phone works very fast with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. To ensure that the phone does not heat up, it is also provided with 3D ice-loop cooling system.
Talking about photography, there is a dual camera setup at the back of the phone, which includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 main camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. It has a 20-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. This phone also supports video recording at 4K 60fps.
Another big feature of this phone is its huge battery of 7,540mAh. It supports 100W wired fast charging. Additionally, it also has the option of 27W reverse charging, through which you can charge other devices as well.
