Delhi Congress in trouble amid elections!  First Lovely left the post of President, now 2 former MLAs resigned from the party

Amidst the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has once again suffered a major setback in Delhi. Two party leaders have resigned. He has expressed his displeasure regarding the alliance with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Former MLAs Neeraj Basoya and Naseeb Singh have sent their resignations to party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Earlier, Arvinder Singh Lovely, who was the party president in Delhi, resigned from his post. There was speculation about his joining BJP, on which he clarified that he was not joining any party.

In his resignation letter, Naseeb Singh told Mallikarjun Kharge, “You have appointed Devinder Yadav as DPCC chief. As Congress’s Punjab in-charge, Arvind Kejriwal, he attacked the false agenda of Arvind Kejriwal and ran a campaign and today in Delhi he will praise and support AAP and Kejriwal. Extremely saddened and humiliated by the recent developments in the party, I am resigning from the party. Remember that after Lovely’s resignation, many Congress leaders including Naseeb Singh, Neeraj Basoya had come to meet him.

Neeraj Basoya said in his resignation letter, ‘Our ongoing alliance with Aam Aadmi Party is extremely humiliating as AAP has been associated with many scams in the last 7 years. Top 3 AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia are already in jail. AAP has been facing serious allegations like Delhi Liquor Scam, Delhi Jal Board Scam. The former MLA said that by aligning with AAP, the Congress party “appears to have given a clean chit” to the Kejriwal-led party and appreciates AAP’s misleading propaganda of development. I can no longer be a part of any such efforts.

At the same time, the political temperature had increased after Arvinder Singh Lovely resigned from the post of Delhi unit chief of Congress. Hours after announcing his decision, Lovely said he had only left his post and was not joining any other political party. He gave this clarification on the claim of former Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan. Khane had said that BJP will field Lovely in place of Harsh Malhotra from East Delhi constituency.
